The old African American pastor said: “You best be careful what you ask the Lord for; He just might give it to you!” Our great God desperately wants us to plead with Him to move powerfully in, on, and through us! “Call to Me, and I will answer you, and show you great and mighty things, which you do not know” (Jeremiah 33:3 NKJV).
Pastor Larry Jones of Concord Baptist Church in Mohawk, TN and the solid and strong believers that he shepherds hosted me for a powerful youth revival last weekend at Locust Springs Christian Retreat Center in Baileyton, TN! This is the third year in a row that they have hosted this youth revival! Pastor Larry preached on Friday night, and I preached on Saturday night. The message title was Are You Truly Born Again? As soon as I gave the public invitation, the altar literally flooded with young people crying tears of repentance along with their leaders! They came forward as if they were pulled by a Huge Vacuum! It was as powerful a move of the living God as I have ever witnessed in my life! Six young people gave their hearts to Jesus! Nine young people recommitted their lives! Two surrendered to their Lord’s call! Two came for baptism! Pastor Larry allowed me to do the detailed follow-up with him and his great wife, Miss Angie, assisting me! The convicting power of the Holy Spirit was so strong that many of the young people and their parents were still crying during and after the follow-up!
Pastor Larry is to be commended for he did not allow the devil to cool down such a powerfully deep move of the living God! On Sunday night he baptized six of the young people in the Nolichucky River! Five of the young people were sisters from the same family! What wonderful and inexpressible joy to witness one of the most beautiful baptismal services that I have ever seen in my life! This body of believers has been crying out to God to move and He heard and answered them! In the weeks leading up to the event, I could feel them praying as strongly as I have ever experienced in my life! My Lord gave me a saying in 1996: “No prayer; No power. Much prayer; Much power.”
Pastor John Rogers had me to assist him in the First Priority Bible Club at Westview Middle School in Morristown on Friday morning, May 5th. Pastor John has been faithfully serving his Lord here for 25 years! Faithful is the one word to describe this dear servant of the Lord! Twenty-one students were in attendance as I used the More Life Tract. I had them to participate with me and it made all the difference as four of the young people were Born Again! They came to the table where we had placed the new Bibles and the New Believer’s New Testaments. I could see real legitimate needs! Your gifts are used to purchase these valuable resources that I have been distributing freely for the past 40 years!
Pastor John David Shanks of Beulah Baptist Church in Kingsport, TN had me to present the gospel there as they prepared for Vacation Bible School. He is in his fourth year here and the awesome power of the living God is moving! His youth leaders, Becky and Jeremy Sexton, are doing an outstanding job as they host a home school co-op each week! It has grown so much that they have started two more co-ops at two different locations! My Lord had His servant to deliver the message The Christian Woman from Mark 14:1-9. The power of the living God literally sat down on the place! I could see people crying everywhere from such deep and strong conviction! One man was crying so hard that he was shaking! Pastor John David told me that he knows of at least five ladies who rededicated their lives! As the invitation was coming to a close, I asked the people to go to the ladies who have “broken vases for the Lord Jesus” in their lives and thank them and hug them and they did just that!
Pastor Travis Pierson of Blessed Hope Baptist Church in Kingsport, TN hosted me for a revival this past month! He took me to visit an 89-year-old spiritually lost man! This dear man allowed me to share the gospel with him. As I led him to pray to be Born Again, he stopped praying right before he said: “I now accept You!” Pastor Travis allowed me to use a different soul winning resource each service to teach the people that he shepherds how to share their faith! They received the training very well! I have never served a church where so many of the people take notes during the message! They love the Word of God! On the final night, a precious 11-year-old girl asked the Lord Jesus to be her Savior and Lord! Our great God always honors the faithfulness of His people (Rev. 2:10c)!
The power of God continues to move at the Jefferson County Jail in Dandridge, TN! This past month seven men have been Born Again while thirty-two men have rededicated their lives to their Lord! Men who have been coming to the church service for some time are growing before my very eyes! Their prayer requests are indicative of their personal growth in their walk with their Lord! Many of these men personally thank me for coming! As I was leaving one day, a dear man called out to me from the end of the hall. He came to me and hugged me and said: “Brother Jeff, thank you for coming in here! When I think of you, I am reminded of Matthew 25:36.” Prayer and the Word of God can still get the job done! Glory Be!
The dear servants of Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Rogersville, TN are growing as they continue to learn how to share their faith in their precious Lord Jesus! I have been teaching them how to lead lost people to Jesus nearly every Wednesday night this year! This week I will be assisting them in their Vacation Bible School. Please pray for many precious boys and girls to give their young hearts to the Lord Jesus! On Father’s Day I will be delivering the message there. On Thursday, June 20th, I will be assisting Pastor John Rogers at the VBS at Beulah Baptist Church in Mohawk, TN. We desperately want to see children and young people saved!
As you can see, this soul winner is faithfully laboring in the harvest fields! I do not want to see anybody die here and then live forever in HELL! With all of my heart, thank you for standing with me! I need your faithful passionate prayers! I love you!
