Do You Fear God? (Part 18)

Another trait of the people of the last days is that they are lovers of pleasure more than lovers of God. Matthew Henry states: “When there are more pleasure seekers than true Christians, then the times are bad indeed. God is to be loved above all. That is a carnal mind, and is full of enmity against him, which prefers anything before Him, especially such a sordid thing as carnal pleasure.” Deut.6:5 states: “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your strength.” Oliver Green states: “The average church member today does not allow the church service to come between him and his pleasure. Prayer meeting, revival or church duties no longer interfere with social activities. Almost any minister would agree with this, for it is the simple truth that the average church member does not let church activities interfere with his social life nor with anything he or she wants to do in the love of pleasure. Are you a pleasure seeker or are you a God seeker? In Matt.6:33 Jesus states: “But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.”
