Why does the living God call men to do the work of the New Testament evangelist? It is this simple! He does not want anyone to die here and then live forever in the awful dreadful place called HELL! In Matt. 18:14 the Lord Jesus states: “Even so it is not the will of your Father who is in heaven that one of these little ones should perish.”
Pastor John Rogers of Beulah Baptist Church in Mohawk, TN has officially retired as pastor after 24 years! His Lord has powerfully used him to shepherd His people effectively (Psalm 78:72)! What great joy to be able to serve alongside Pastor John on so many occasions, especially at the First Priority Bible Clubs where we have seen several thousand young people give their hearts to Jesus! He will continue to work with the young people in the public schools and I will assist him as he needs me!
The leadership of Beulah Baptist Church had me to fill the pulpit the first Sunday after Pastor John Rogers’ official retirement. My Lord had me to deliver the message: “A Disobedient Man Is A Weak Man” from 1 Samuel 15:10-35 to challenge the church as they begin their search for a new pastor. My Lord instructed me to bring the search committee to the altar and have the church lay their hands on them and pray for them! Then, everyone in attendance came to each search committee member to encourage them and promise them that they will be praying for them daily! The Sunday night message was titled: “Watch Your Next Step” from Genesis 2:24 on God’s Biblical standard for marriage.
Pastor Don Bible of Bibles Chapel Baptist Church in Midway, TN gave this soul winner the awesome privilege to deliver the gospel to the boys and girls in their Vacation Bible School. My Lord had me to use the Candle Illustration. It is a very effective illustration! I wish that you could have seen the boys and girls get up from where they were seated as they gathered around me to watch intently! It was very evident that the overwhelming power of the Holy Spirit literally drew them to the Truth of the glorious gospel message! Six boys and girls gave their heart to Jesus while one child recommitted their life to their Lord!
Pastor Don Bible has a very keen understanding of the work of the New Testament evangelist! He wanted me in the pulpit the Sunday after VBS! My Lord had His servant speak on the subject: “Are You Truly Born Again?” Text: John 3:1-3. You could feel a very deep movement of the Holy Spirit as a teenage girl came forward weeping during the public invitation! She rededicated her life! A lady in her 30’s also came in tears as she rededicated her life! A six-year-old red-headed freckle faced boy came forward on his own! Pastor Don led him to Jesus! His mom came from across the church aisle to embrace him in tears of great joy! She was one of the VBS workers! After the service, she and her husband watched as I did the follow-up with their son! It was refreshing to see a mom and dad who love the Lord and are raising their children to serve the Lord (Proverbs 22:6)!
The number of men coming to the church room at the Jefferson County Jail has been smaller this past month, but the overwhelming power of the living God is still very powerful! Men are coming into the church room crying! They are already broken before they enter the room! Your prayers are preparing their hearts! Thank you, with all of my heart for your passionate prayers! Ten men have rededicated their lives this past month!
A man who goes into a juvenile facility where juveniles are incarcerated has contacted me! His work there is very effective! He needed 500 of the How To Be Born Again flyers! He told me that they are really effective in the facility!
I recently saw a businessman in a public setting who stopped me to tell me that he watches the television broadcast. He was very complimentary of last week’s message on homosexuality! He stated: “You don’t hear preachers address that subject today!” He requested that I send him the scripture passages from the message, and I have sent them to him! He also told me that my dad and another man from Calvary Baptist Church in Morristown brought him to church when he was just a little boy! He is now 77 years old so that would have been over 65 years ago! That is what the Bible calls a spiritual legacy (Psalm 112)! My mom and dad have served their Lord faithfully!
On Sunday, August 11, I will serve alongside Pastor Charles Brewer of Lebanon Baptist Church in Talbott, TN for both the Sunday morning and evening services. On Sunday, August 25, I will be serving alongside Pastor Justin Randolph of Zion Hill Baptist Church in Sevierville, TN for the morning service. Please pray passionately that the overwhelming power of the living God will go before me, with me, and after me! Oh, how this soul winner needs the powerful anointing of the Holy Spirit on his life! I take nothing for granted, except death and taxes!
With every fiber of my being, thank you for standing with this passionate soul winner! Please pray with me that my Lord will continue to divinely and sovereignly place me right where He needs me the greatest! My heart is still very much on fire to do His Holy will in my life no matter the cost (Psalm 42:1-2)! I love and appreciate you!
