When the living God calls a man or woman to serve Him wholeheartedly, He allows them to suffer great hardship as they seek to do His will in their lives! I know all too well! On the afternoon of April 24, 1992, I surrendered my life to my Lord to do the work of the New Testament evangelist. By His great grace and through the empowerment of the Holy Spirit, I have faithfully followed His leadership for the past 32 years! Thousands of spiritually lost people are now on their way to Heaven because this soul winner led them to faith in the Lord Jesus for that is what an evangelist is called by His God to do (Eph. 4:11-12)!
The awesome power of the living God continues to work through the First Priority Bible Clubs in the public schools! Shea Long of Beulah Baptist Church and the faculty sponsor, Miss Joni, hosted this soul winner at the McDonald School as I shared the gospel using the colored beaded bracelets along with the color coded How To Be Born Again flyers for the fourth and fifth graders. The students were very attentive, and they participated in the gospel presentation! You could feel the power of God in the room! It was stone cold quiet when I led the students to pray to be saved! I could tell by the look on their faces that they had been with Jesus! We know of at least four students who prayed to be saved! I wish that you could have seen them come forward to receive new Bibles and New Believer’s New Testaments! One student left to take their tray outside and then came back to get their Bible and New Believer’s New Testament! My Lord spoke to His servant’s heart within an hour after I left: “Son, many more children asked me in their heart!” AMEN! Only He knows!
The faithful believers at Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Rogersville, TN are learning about the many ways that they can lead lost people to faith in the Lord Jesus on Wednesday night! On one night, the power and presence of the Holy Spirit was so real that a testimony meeting literally broke out! Soul winning will do that to a church (Acts 2:16-21)!
The power of God is moving stronger than I have ever seen in the four years that I have been proclaiming the gospel in the Jefferson County Jail! The only reason this is happening is that God’s people are praying passionately (Jer. 33:3)! Thank you! Don’t stop! On one Thursday morning, men just spontaneously began to cry! They were under such strong conviction that they could barely talk! I called on men to pray who said publicly that they had never prayed in their life! As one man began to pray, he said: “Lord, I can feel the Holy Spirit rushing up my spine!” I looked at the floor and tears were splashing! The power of God can “pierce the darkness” anywhere in this old cold world! We may be “in chains,” but the Word of God is never chained (2 Tim. 2:9)!
On another Thursday, every man in attendance had a Bible in his hand! This is the first time that this has ever happened here! They read the text for the message with me! The message was about the Rich Young Ruler from Mark 10:17-22, The Boy With The Most Toys Does Not Win. The Boy With Jesus In His Heart Wins. As the service closed, a man in tears stood up and said: “I was like the rich young ruler. I valued my possessions and my position more than I valued my relationship with Jesus.” He was literally beating his heart as he spoke about having it all and then losing it all! He recommitted his life to his Lord!
On another Thursday, a dear man was fighting back tears the whole service! He finally gave in and began to literally sob from the powerful conviction of the Holy Spirit! He checked on his decision card that he had been Born Again! Another man came to me to tell me that he was reading the Bible for the first time in his life! He asked me to pray for him that he will stay faithful. I know of at least four men who were Born Again while fourteen men rededicated their lives to their Lord during the month of April.
As our Lord wills, I will be in a revival setting at Blessed Hope Baptist Church in Kingsport, TN from May 19-22 with Pastor Travis Pierson. Then on Friday, May 31 and Saturday, June 1, I will be serving alongside Pastor Larry Jones of Concord Baptist Church in a weekend youth revival that will be held at Locust Springs Christian Retreat Center in Greeneville, TN. Please pray passionately for these upcoming events that many precious lost people will come to faith in the Lord Jesus!
Thank you, with every fiber of my being, for standing with this soul winner! I love you! I do not want anyone’s BLOOD on my hands (Ezekiel 33:1-11)! I do not want anyone to die and go to the awful dreadful place called HELL (Luke 16:19-31)!
