Another trait of the people of the Last Days is that they are boasters. A boaster is a braggart, a pretender, a vaunter, and a swaggart. A boaster is a person who boasts in what he has, pretends to have what he does not have or to do what he has not done. Bragging may involve a job, a deal, a possession, an achievement – anything that may impress others. It is a person who feels the need to push himself above others even if it involves pretension, deception, make believe, and lies. The world is full of boasters and braggarts; teachers who pretend to be wise, politicians who pretend to have the utopian state, businesspeople who pretend to have the product that brings health, beauty, and happiness, and the preacher who pretends to have the revelation from God and spiritual gifts from God that no one else has. He is more spiritual than others. Are you a boastful person? Repent today. James 4:16 (NKJV) states: “But now you boast in your arrogance. All such boasting is evil.” Do you fear God? Romans 3:18 “There is no fear of God before their eyes.” The people of the Last Days have no fear of God. In Psalm 34:7 David states: “The angel of the Lord encamps all around those who fear him, and delivers them.”
