We are living in perilous times. Perilous means difficult, troublesome, trying, uneasy, hard, violent, threatening, and dangerous times. Do you fear God? Romans 3:18 “There is no fear of God before their eyes.” The people of the Last Days have no fear of God. Joshua 4:21-24 states: “Then He spoke to the children of Israel, saying: ‘When your children ask their fathers in time to come, saying, ‘What are these stones?’ Then you shall let your children know, saying, ‘Israel crossed over this Jordan on dry land’; for the Lord your God dried up the waters of the Jordan before you until you had crossed over, as the Lord your God did to the Red Sea, which He dried up before us until we had crossed over, that all the peoples of the earth may know the hand of the Lord, that it is mighty, that you may fear the Lord your God forever.’” Paul tells a young Timothy that this is how the world will be in the Last Days before Jesus returns to take His children home to heaven. 2 Timothy 3:1-5 states: “But know this, that in the last days perilous times will come: For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, unloving, unforgiving, slanderers, without self-control, brutal, despisers of good, traitors, headstrong, haughty, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, having a form of godliness but denying its power. And from such people turn away!” Jesus is coming soon! Are you ready to meet Him? Have you truly been born again, and, if so, are you living for Jesus as the scriptures teach? Do you fear God? Romans 3:18 “There is no fear of God before their eyes.” The people of the Last Days have no fear of God. Psalm 33:8-9 states: “Let all the earth fear the Lord; Let all the inhabitants of the world stand in awe of Him. For He spoke, and it was done; He commanded, and it stood fast.” The people of the last days will be lovers of themselves. This does not mean the normal and natural love of life and of oneself that we should all have. It means selfish and self-centered. People who are selfish and self-centered think that life revolves around them. They are narcissistic, meaning they think they are God. They focus upon themselves and their own pleasure instead of upon God and other people. They put themselves before their spouse, their parents, their children, their friends, their neighbors, and their God. They put their own will before God’s will. They seek their own desires without considering others. They go after what they want even if it is unwise and hurts other people. Is this a description of you? Today, you can repent of your self-centeredness and begin to live like Jesus lived, sacrificially and selflessly. Do you fear God? Romans 3:18 “There is no fear of God before their eyes.” The people of the Last Days have no fear of God. Joshua 24:14 states: “Now therefore, fear the Lord, and serve Him in sincerity and in truth, and put away the gods which your fathers served on the other side of the river and in Egypt. Serve the Lord!”
