Text: Romans 3:9-18
Focal verse: v.18 – “There is no fear of God before their eyes.”The Apostle Paul is stating that the whole world is guilty before Almighty Holy God! We live in a day and age when people literally have no fear of God! What does it mean to fear God? We fear God because He is God; holy, righteous, pure, and just. We fear God with a reverential fear. We stand in awe of His eternal majesty. We are filled with wonder that He is the Supreme Ruler of the universe. We live knowing that every moment of our lives is ultimately controlled by the living God and that we will one day stand before Him to be judged for the way that we have lived. Peter tells us in 1 Peter 1:17-19 “And if you call on the Father, who without partiality judges according to each one’s work, conduct yourselves throughout the time of your stay here in fear; knowing that you were not redeemed with corruptible things, like silver or gold, from your aimless conduct received by tradition from your fathers, but with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot.” Oswald Chambers states: “The remarkable thing about God is that when you fear God, you fear nothing else, whereas if you do not fear God, you fear everything else.” Do you fear God? Romans 3:18 “There is no fear of God before their eyes.” The people of the Last Days have no fear of God. In Psalm 76:7 the Psalmist states: “You, Yourself, are to be feared; And who may stand in Your presence when once You are angry?”
