Sex: God’s Gift

In I Corinthians 6:9-20 the Apostle Paul tells us who will not be in Heaven. Adulterers, people who have sex with someone other than their marriage partner. Fornicators, people who are not married who have sex with other people. Idol worshipers. Homosexuals: people who have sex with people of the same sex. Thieves, greedy people, drunks, and anyone who curses and cheats people will not be in heaven. He tells the church at Corinth that many of them were sexually immoral, they used the gift of sex outside of marriage. They were involved in homosexuality. God forgave them when they repented. He goes on to say that sexual immorality is a sin against your own body like no other sin. Your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit. He lives in your body when you are saved. You are not your own because you have been bought with a price. The price is Jesus’ death on the cross. We are to glorify God with our bodies. Romans 12:1,2 states: I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service. And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.” If you are truly born again, your body belongs to God.
