“Great turmoil” are two words to describe the present condition of this world! People are deeply troubled and anxiously looking for hope somewhere. Jack Stanton, a truly outstanding soul winner, stated over thirty years ago: “The darker the day, the brighter that you can shine!” With the power of the Holy Spirit upon us, we can move forward in bold, daring, dynamic faith no matter what the condition of this present world! In Matthew 5:13-16 the Lord Jesus states: “You are the salt of the earth; but if the salt loses its flavor, how shall it be seasoned? It is then good for nothing but to be thrown out and trampled underfoot by men. You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor do they light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.”
Pastor John Rogers of Beulah Baptist Church in Mohawk, TN had this servant to stand-in for him on Mother’s Day while he was recovering from minor surgery. My Lord had me to deliver the message titled: “Break A Vase.” It is a tribute to Christian mothers and the people responded by going to the ladies in their church who have truly “broken vases for Jesus” in their lives!
Pastor Larry Jones of Concord Baptist Church in Mohawk, TN had this soul winner to assist him in their church’s youth retreat held at Locust Springs Conference Center in Greeneville, TN. Pastor Larry and his staff have been praying and planning for this event since the first of this year. They have really been burdened for this generation of young people! I am always encouraged greatly when I see a pastor and his staff passionately pray and plan and seek the great heart of the living God to move upon His people mightily! Pastor Larry and I challenged the young people to never be afraid in their life. When I gave the public invitation on Saturday night, the altar literally flooded with boys and girls in tears! When the “dust had settled” eight precious young people had rededicated their lives! I had each one give a public testimony of what had just occurred in their heart. The dear lady who leads the youth group was weeping tears of great joy! In fact, if every pastor and youth leader across America had a burdened heart like this dear lady, we would see revival break out across this nation! Pastor Larry stated: “We could see this every Sunday at our church!” I gave each young person the resource, Touchpoints For Students, which Biblically addresses every subject that they are confronted with in this world today. For everyone who made a decision as well as for every youth leader, I gave them the New Believer’s New Testament. Your gifts assist me in providing these invaluable resources!
I was blessed to meet Pastor Dan Van Wormer in 2010 in Clarksville, TN. He and I led a 75-year-old man to Jesus in that city and Dan has never forgotten it! He called me the first of this year to tell me that he had just been named the pastor of Calvary Baptist Church in Pulaski, TN. His great God moved on his big heart to bring this servant there to assist him. On Saturday April 30 Pastor Dan allowed me to lead a soul winning clinic. Eleven people from his church as well as other churches in the community attended. Dan and the people that he shepherds have been praying since January for the power of God to move on all of us and He certainly did! Our great God honors the life of a soul winner and all in attendance knew that we were in the presence of the living God (Proverbs 11:30)!
The revival began on Sunday morning, May 1. It was a great revival! Three adults surrendered to their Lord’s call on their life! A precious 16-year-old young lady received assurance of her salvation and Pastor Dan baptized her! Another young man joined the church while the altar literally flooded with people during the public invitation the night that I delivered the message: “Let Your Past Be Passed.” A faithful Spirit-filled lady who is the manager of an assisted living facility in the city gave me the tremendous opportunity to share the gospel there. You would be so very blessed if you could have seen them singing the great hymns of the faith with me! They hung on my every word as I shared the gospel with them! The manager told me that several of the residents told her that they had not heard preaching like that in years!
The power of God continues to move as I share the gospel in the penal facility each week! These dear men are sharing their hearts with me. I am seeing them surrender their hearts to their Lord! Many have a strong background in church. They have just made some very bad choices and have gotten addicted to drugs. They are allowing their God to clean them up because He is the only ONE who can!
If I went to Heaven today, I could sing the great hymn of the faith, “It Is Well With My Soul.” Oh, how I pray daily for my Lord to allow His servant to see literally untold billions ushered into His everlasting Kingdom before, during, and after my home going!
On Sunday June 5, I will proclaim the gospel at Beulah Baptist church in Kingsport, TN where John David Shanks is the pastor. This message is to be a challenge to them to reach children for JESUS in their upcoming Vacation Bible School. Please pray for the awesome power of the living God to literally set down on that place!
Thank you, with all that is within me, for standing with this soul winner in prayers and giving. I can promise you that thousands will one day thank you in Heaven! I love and appreciate you more than you will ever know!
