The living God spoke to Ezekiel about being a watchman. “So you, son of man: I have made you a watchman for the house of Israel; therefore you shall hear a word from My mouth and warn them for Me. When I say to the wicked, ‘O wicked man, you shall surely die! And you do not speak to warn the wicked from his way, that wicked man shall die in his iniquity; but his blood I will require at your hand. Nevertheless if you warn the wicked to turn from his way, and he does not turn from his way, he shall die in his iniquity; but you have delivered your soul” (Ezekiel 33:7-9 NKJV). It is this simple. I do not want anyone’s blood on my hands! I want to be completely obedient to be my Lord’s mouthpiece even if it costs me my life!
My Lord had me to speak for Him this past month at Zion Hill Baptist Church where Justin Randolph is the pastor. The title of the message was Samson and His Sin. Anytime the Lord’s messenger addresses sexual immorality in this culture, it gets stone cold quiet! Several people came to pray at the altar for those who are outside of Christ.
Pastor John Rogers told me at the beginning of the school year that he has never seen the power of the Holy Spirit literally being poured out on a group of young people like this current group of young people (Joel 2:28-29)! Yes, I believe this is indicative of the Last Days! This is his 22nd year hosting the First Priority Bible Club at Westview Middle School. It has and it continues to be one of the greatest blessings of my life to serve alongside him here!
Over four years ago, the Holy Spirit began to convict Pastor Charles Brewer of Lebanon Baptist Church to start praying for the public schools on their own turf! He was obedient to his Lord’s marching orders! This is the third year that they have been praying at Westview Middle School.
I had fasted and prayed two weeks ago for the power of God to move on the scene at Westview on Friday when I would share the gospel message. When I arrived at the school around 7:10 AM, Pastor Charles and a husband and wife from Lebanon Baptist Church were praying in front of the entrance to the school. The wife was praying that First Priority and the Fellowship of Christian Athletes would be able to start back and that the Lord would save the young people in droves! Neither this Godly couple nor their pastor, Charles Brewer, knew that Pastor John Rogers had reignited First Priority at the beginning of the school year!
Close to 80 young people came into the school library for the First Priority meeting! Mrs. Roth, Mrs. Rines, and Coach Noe were there as the faculty sponsors. I used the flyer Where Will You Live in Eternity: Heaven or Hell? The backside of the flyer explains Heaven and Hell and how you get to each place. I asked the students to volunteer to read the different sections to their classmates. You could literally feel a holy hush set down in that room! I passionately told them of the importance of being Born Again early in one’s life. Fifteen of these young people indicated on their decision card that they had prayed with me to be Born Again!
The reaction of the female faculty sponsors was unbelievable! They were choking back tears of great joy! I believe that if they had been in a room by themselves that they would have laid down prostrate on the floor and wept! The deep move of the Holy Spirit moved on them deeply! They told Pastor John and I that many of the young people in attendance are troubled youth who cause much trouble in the school! They spoke publicly to their students in the room and told them that they love them and that they are there for them any time that they need them! They also said that they are seeing the power of God move through First Priority and FCA like never before! They took new Bibles from me as well as New Believer’s New Testaments to the young people who will be coming to talk to them.
In the 22 years that I have been assisting Pastor John Rogers I have never seen such a powerful move of God on the faculty sponsors! Why did this happen? Pastor Charles Brewer and the servants from Lebanon Baptist Church have been praying every day that school is in session for the past three years! My Lord gave me a saying many years ago: “No Prayer. No Power. Much Prayer. Much Power!”
Yes, the living God is at work in this world! The evangelists from across the state met in Johnson City, TN for the Mid-Winter Bible conference. Many of the services, including mine, were cancelled due to the weather, but Pastor Sherill Nave of Oak Grove Baptist Church refused to cancel! Evangelist Harold Hunter preached with great anointing and power, and a mom and dad came flying down the aisle with their two young sons during the public invitation! Their youngest son, age 6, gave his heart to JESUS! It was a scene that I shall never forget!
Thank you for praying and for sharing! Our great God is at work in this world, and I just praise His Holy name that He has allowed this servant to be a small part of His everlasting kingdom work!
