Have you ever thought about the question: “What If Jesus Had Never Been Born?” Dr. D James Kennedy wrote a book with this title a number of years ago. He was a very “deep thinker” and a powerful personal soul winner who also wrote the Spirit-filled course “Evangelism Explosion” as he founded and pastored Coral Ridge Presbyterian Church in Florida. If Jesus had never been born, my life’s work as a New Testament evangelist is a “farce.” I have literally been wasting my time for the past 37 years sharing the Good News that Jesus lived a perfect and sinless life, died on the Cross at Calvary for the sins of the world, and was resurrected after He was in the grave for three days (1 Cor. 15:1-8)! Jesus was born to a virgin whose name is Mary and He is the only Way to get to Heaven (John 14:6)! He is the only One who can give a person an abundant life in this life and eternal life in Heaven (John 10:10). I have not been wasting my time telling people about Jesus everywhere that I go, and I would do it all over again (Cor. 15:58)! Jesus is Christmas and He truly is the Reason for the Season! Praise His Holy name!
It has been two long years since Pastor John Rogers and the people that he shepherds at Beulah Baptist Church have been able to go into the public schools with the gospel message through the First Priority Bible Club. What joy to be able to assist them for the past 21 years! Pastor John told me that he is seeing the outpouring of the Holy Spirit this year as never before (Joel 2:28-29)! Yes, we are in the Last Days before the Lord Jesus returns! These young people are very “hungry” for the Word of God! On Friday, Nov. 19, Pastor John and faculty sponsors, Mrs. Roth and Mr. Noe, allowed me to share the gospel with 78 students using the More Life tract. You could have heard a pin drop on the carpet at Westview Middle School in Morristown, TN! The young people were given a More Life tract which has a decision card attached to it. Twenty-five youth recorded that they had been Born Again while five said that they want to be baptized and sixteen said that they had rededicated their lives to their Lord! I distributed Bibles and a New Believer’s New Testament to each student who requested one. This past Friday, Pastor John Rogers also gave a new Bible to each student who had indicated that they had been Born Again! Yes, Pastor John and I believe in being thorough in our work for our Lord!
What great joy to be able to go into a penal facility with the glorious gospel message! Men who have a “broken and hurting look” on their faces upon entering the room that they call the “church room” leave with the “joy of Jesus” on their faces! I wish that you could see them pray for one another and sing “Amazing Grace.” Many of them just sit there and literally “weep” as the Holy Spirit grabs hold of their heart! The Word of God has all of the power when it is shared with the anointing of the Holy Spirit (Hebrews 4:12)! If you could see the comments that they make on their decision card, you would “weep” more than they do! They are broken over their families who are living life without them at home! They are broken over their bad decisions! It is my responsibility as the Lord’s servant to point them to JESUS, their great Redeemer (John 12:31-32)! Yes, men are being Born Again and men are rededicating their lives to their Lord! I recently asked for comments at the close of a service. One young man who had said nothing the entire service raised his hand for permission to speak. He said: “I have not been to church in a long time, but I have been to church today.” Men came to me and hugged me and thanked me.
I was also blessed this past month by having the opportunity to share the gospel at Cherokee Hills Baptist Church in Morristown, TN. Deacon John Blair invited me as they are without a pastor. I distributed the “Born Again Flyer” as well as “How To Pray For The Lost.” The people in attendance were very attentive to the message “The Spiritual State Of These United States.” The awesome power of the Holy Spirit was in the house!
Thank you for faithfully standing with this soul winner in prayer and in giving financially. I never ask for money in any public setting as well as on the television broadcast. It is so very important to me that I not bring any reproach on the name of Jesus Christ! Just do as your Lord leads you to do at year end! All I want in life is for this spiritually lost world to know my Savior as their Savior. I love you!
