How thankful I am for parents who love the Lord Jesus! My mom and dad raised us in a Christian home and their three children accepted the Lord Jesus at a young age. Today, each of their three children have two children, and those children have all been born again and baptized and are living for their Lord. This is called a spiritual legacy (Psalm 112). Our outstanding mother and grandmother and great-grandmother recently passed from this temporary life into the loving arms of her Lord in Heaven. All of us were by her side as she breathed her last breath here. Our lives will never be the same, but we know that we will see her again very soon! The value of a real Christian mom is inestimable (Proverbs 31:10-31)!
Pastor John Rogers of Beulah Baptist Church in Mohawk recently hosted me for two Sunday morning services. I could feel the prayers of the Lord’s people before I even arrived! Glory! Prayer still works (Jeremiah 33:3)! The messages that I delivered were Is it Too Late For America To Turn Back To God?” and Why Would Anyone Not Want To Live Forever In Heaven? A young man came out of his pew like he had been “shot out of a cannon” as soon as the public invitation began! He was wearing a mask due to this virus, but you could see the tears in his eyes from the strong conviction from the Holy Spirit! He so beautifully rededicated his life to his Lord! Yes, the gospel still works even in a pandemic (Isaiah 55:11)!
Thankful is one word that I can always use to my Lord and His servants who continue to assist me in getting the gospel to the spiritually lost masses via the media! Over ten years ago we began using the media and our Lord continues to perfect and expand our outreach! I am so very thankful for Lauren Collins and for Faith and Hope Ross and their faithful attention to detail in filming, editing, and producing the television broadcast as well as the Facebook and YouTube videos. They do excellent work for their Lord and thousands will one day thank them in Heaven!
In speaking with Lauren Collins, she and I learned that her grandmother was gloriously saved in the 1940’s when my grandfather, Howard Harvel, preached in a tent revival in the Witt community in South Hamblen County. Also, her grandmother attended grade school in White Pine, TN with one of my uncles, Pastor Dale Gray! Lauren’s family gave the land to Witt Baptist Church in this same area. This is how the living God links His children together to spread His glorious gospel message! It is hard to fathom the awesome power of Almighty God! The granddaughter of a lady who was born again when my grandfather proclaimed the gospel over 70 years ago is now assisting me in spreading the gospel! Thank you, precious Lord (2 Timothy 1:5)!
This coming Sunday morning I will begin a series of revival services at First Baptist Church in Whitesburg, TN where Brain Wilson is the pastor. Please pray for the power of the living God to literally set down on the place! Oh, how we need a deep and powerful move of Almighty God on this nation (2 Chronicles 7:14)!
Thank you, with all my heart, for standing with this servant of the Lord Jesus! Yes, the day is dark and very long, but we serve a God who is brighter than the darkness and more loving than the hardest of days! I love you!
