January 2020 Newsletter

Happy New Year!  It sounds strange to think of writing the numbers 2020, but it is a reality!  I trust that you are happy and well. Today is the first day of the rest of our lives! Please put the past behind you and start this new year refreshed! The Apostle Paul has a great perspective on the past!  In 2 Cor. 5:17 (KJV) he states: “Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.”

Normally, people are so busy in the month of December that opportunities to share the glorious gospel message are very limited. I praise my Lord that He “moved on the scene” and gave me opportunities that you and I have prayed for! My pastor, Royce Bailey, allowed me to deliver a Christmas message at our home church, Zion Grove Baptist Church.  My Lord spoke to my heart as He gave me a brand new message just for Christmas, The Heart of Simeon (He Was Looking For Jesus) from Luke 2:21-35.  (1.) Simeon Was Obedient.  (2.) Simeon Was Joyful.  (3.) Simeon Was Prophetic.  No one was born again, but I gave a very clear and concise presentation of the gospel!

Joseph Gragg, youth pastor of Bibles Chapel Baptist Church in Midway, TN, invited me to deliver the gospel message on their annual Youth Sunday.  A dear group of children and young people hung on my every word as I delivered the message, Impossible from Luke 1:37 (KJV) “For with God nothing shall be impossible.” Joseph did an excellent job in “preparing the way” for this evangelistic message. No one was born again, but we know that the word of the Lord never returns void (Isaiah 55:11)!

My Lord has recently brought two very special young men into my life whom He has called into His service.  I have and I will continue to “spiritually pour into their young lives” to assist them in the fulfillment of their Lord’s call! They need great encouragement, because they are being called to speak for the living God in the Last Days before the imminent return of our Lord (2 Timothy 3). In this day and age anyone who stands and speaks the truth of their Lord’s Holy Word will be persecuted (2 Timothy 3:12)! I know from personal experience!

A dear family friend, Barbara Shockley, went to be with her Lord this past month. Her son, Steve, gave me the privilege of speaking at her memorial. It was a true joy to speak on behalf of Barb’s family!  Many years ago, she told me and Steve what she wanted, and we granted her wishes! She was a dear and precious “soul” who I will greatly miss!  Heaven’s gain is our loss! Steve allowed me to share the plan of salvation, and I did with the power of the Holy Spirit upon me (Ephesians 5:18)!

Our Lord has provided new equipment for His servant to reach more spiritually lost people in 2020!  In addition to the television broadcast, I hope and plan to develop more programming that will literally “blanket the globe” with the life changing message of the gospel!  People stop me everywhere that I go and tell me that they see the TV broadcast!  The world is online and watching!  Men like me must proclaim the whole counsel of God to this spiritually lost world as long as we have the opportunity!  In John 9:4,5 (KJV) Jesus states: “I must work the works of Him that sent Me, while it is day: the night cometh, when no man can work. As long as I am in the world, I am the light of the world.”

The people who are closest to me know my heart! I do not want to see anyone die and live forever in the place called Hell!  I would have never been sharing my faith as I have for over 35 years, if I did not have a “deep seated burning desire from the living God of heaven and earth” to literally place myself in their place knowing that they will never ever see Jesus in heaven if they are not born again!

I love you! Thank you for standing with me as I seek to fulfill the Great Commission in my lifetime (Matthew 28:18-20)!

For Souls forever In Heaven,

Jeffrey L. Harvel
