The living God created Adam (Genesis 2:7). He also created Eve (Gen. 2:21-24). He told them to “leave and cleave” as He united them in marriage. This means that God’s design for marriage is one man and his wife for life! Adam and Eve disobeyed their God’s command and sin came into the world (Gen. 3:6-7). In Genesis 19 we read that Almighty God destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah for its sin of homosexuality. This is where the word “sodomy” originates. It means sex with a member of the same sex. God’s Word, the Bible, clearly forbids homosexuality, erotic activity with a member of the same sex. Leviticus 18:22 (NKJV) states: “You shall not lie with a male as with a woman. It is an abomination.” The word abomination means extreme disgust and hatred. The living God of heaven and earth hates this type of behavior because His original design for a man and his wife to have sex is being perverted (corrupted). Also, homosexuality is diametrically opposed to God’s design for the reproduction of the human race. Two men cannot produce a baby. Two women cannot produce a baby. When people and nations give themselves over to the homosexual lifestyle and refuse to repent, the living God turns them over to their own lusts (Romans 1:18-32). In v. 28 Paul states that God gave them over to a debased mind. The King James Version calls it a reprobate mind, a mind that can no longer make right judgments. The disease AIDS is God’s direct judgment on the sin of homosexuality! Those who support homosexuality by passing laws to force it on those who neither believe nor practice it are just as guilty as those who practice it in the eyes of Holy God! “Although they know full well God’s just sentence-that those who practice such things deserve to die-they not only do them, but even applaud (even take pleasure in) others who practice them.” Romans 1:32 (HCSB) says that when you refuse to repent of the homosexual lifestyle, you just get worse and worse. Now, people are having sex changes! Will people involved in the homosexual lifestyle go to heaven when they die? No. I Corinthians 6:9-10 (NIV1984) states: “Do you not know that the wicked will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor male prostitutes nor homosexual offenders nor thieves nor the greedy nor drunkards nor slanderers nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God.” Can the sin of homosexuality be forgiven by Almighty God? Yes! 1 Cor. 6:11 (NIV1984) states: “And that is what some of you were. But you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God.” Simply put, just REPENT! 1 John 1:7-9 (NIV1984) states: “But if we walk in the light, as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, His Son, purifies us from all sin. If we claim to be without sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.”
