In Mark 10:15 Jesus said: “Whosoever shall not receive the Kingdom of God as a little child, he shall not enter therein.” A child is trusting. They respond to openness, warmth, tenderness, care, and the love of Jesus. When Jesus calls them, they want to respond! They will respond to Jesus, and their parents must allow them to do so. A child is humble before Jesus. They do not push themselves forward. They are not interested in prominence, fame, power, wealth, or position. They prefer to be left in their obscure world. Both of our children came to Jesus early in their lives. Our daughter, who is now 26 years of age, was eight years old. Our son, who is now 21 years old, was five years old. As a parent, grandparent, or guardian of a young child, you are asking yourself, “At what age is a child ready to receive Jesus into their heart?” My Lord gave me this word of wisdom a number of years ago. “When you are old enough to realize that you are a sinner, you are old enough to realize your need for the Savior.” Children develop differently as they physically mature. They also develop differently in spiritual awareness. My wife and I did not push our children to Jesus. The Holy Spirit drew them to the Savior! In John 6:44 Jesus said: “No man can come to me, except the Father which hath sent me draw him.” The Holy Spirit convicts you of your sin. He points out your sin in your heart. Every human being has a God-shaped hole in their heart. Almighty God intentionally did this so He and He alone could be the only One to be able to fill it! When He comes into your heart, He will bring peace and joy and love like you have never known.
