What joy to see my Lord answer my prayers for people to be saved everywhere that He sends His servant! “For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour; Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth” (1 Timothy 2:3-4 KJV).
This past weekend I served alongside Pastor Milton Knox of First Baptist Church in Dayton, TN. He has served here faithfully for 33 years! He knows what he is doing in all areas of his ministry, and he knows how to be an effective evangelistic pastor! His Upward Basketball leaders have done an excellent job in implementing the gospel into their program this past year. They allowed me to share the gospel there on Saturday as they closed out the season. I was able to share the gospel briefly on three different occasions during the basketball games. You could actually hear a pin drop because the Holy Spirit was moving so very strongly! After I shared the gospel for the last time, a man in his early 30’s came and sat down next to me. I could tell that he was under strong conviction! I asked him if he had prayed with me to be saved and he said that he had done so! Glory! His daughter was also saved, as well as two other children in his extended family! That is four people in one family!
Then, we went into the worship center for the closing ceremonies that saw close to 150 people in attendance. Pastor Milton and his team of coaches allowed me to share the gospel with the players and their families. I used the More Life tract, which has been designed by Steve Pearson, the director of evangelism for the state of TN. I had the children to come and read different sections of it to their teammates. It was very effective. We know of at least seven more children who prayed to ask Jesus to be their Lord and Savior by faith! The Upward Basketball director was so happy that she was crying tears of joy!
Pastor Milton and I went out into the field and followed-up on as many of those who made decisions as we could on Saturday afternoon in the rain! We praise our Lord that He greatly honored our efforts! We stayed out and worked after dark!
I was also blessed to be able to deliver the Sunday morning message titled The Rich Young Ruler from Mark 10:17-31. Our Lord was moving on the hearts of people! A young man and his wife came for baptism, and a young lady came to become a member of the church!
As you can see, our great God continues to honor your prayers for this soul winner and I thank you with all of my heart (Jeremiah 33:3)! Several years ago, a lady asked us to visit her dad who was on in years and had never been born again. He allowed me to share the gospel with him, but stopped as he prayed the sinner’s prayer to be saved. He said that he just was not ready. Not long after that night, I was proclaiming the gospel in a winter revival at First Baptist Church in Whitesburg, TN where Charles Brewer was the pastor. As I had finished praying before the public invitation began, the Holy Spirit spoke to me very clearly and told me to go and visit this man, Ed Davis, the next day. It was bitterly cold, icy, and snowing. I called my wife, Kim, before I left the church and had her to call Ed Davis’ daughter and tell her what had just transpired. She literally shouted over the phone, for her family had been praying for her dad’s salvation for over 40 years! They were unable to see me the next day, but that night Pastor Charles Brewer called the church to an altar of prayer for Ed Davis to be saved! Our great God heard and answered that powerful time of praying at the altar! The next day I went to his house and led him to faith in the Lord Jesus! His dear wife was elated and said to me: “I do not know your name, but thank you for coming to tell my husband about the love of the Lord Jesus!” I told her that it does not matter that she doesn’t know my name, but to rejoice that her dear husband’s name has been written down in the Lamb’s Book of Life in heaven where it will never ever be erased (Luke 10:20)! When summer arrived, two men who had witnessed to Brother Ed Davis for over 30 years, assisted me as we baptized him in the river! It was a glorious time (Luke 15:7, 10)!
Brother Ed Davis just went to be with his Lord in heaven and his daughter asked me to do his memorial service. It was a blessed event as I was able to tell about his salvation experience! I even shared the plan of salvation and one dear lady raised her hand that she had prayed with me to be born again! Yes, spiritually lost people will be saved when God’s people tell them how to be saved (Romans 10:14)!
Pastor Royce Bailey of Zion Grove Baptist Church in Sevierville had me fill the pulpit there for him in his recent absence. My Lord had me to speak on the subject: The Disobedience of Saul from 1 Samuel 15:10-23. Two dear ladies recommitted their lives to their Lord! Yes, the real gospel still really works when God’s messengers allow the Holy Spirit to work (2 Cor. 3:17)!
It was a joy to be able to attend the E4E Summit in the great state of Oklahoma. International evangelist Sam Tippit led us in depth as we discussed more effective ways to reach this generation of spiritually lost people. God’s faithful servants must be on the cutting edge of soul winning in these evil last days in which we are now living!
I love you more than life itself! Now, more than ever, I need your faithful prayers and financial support! Thank you for standing with me as I endeavor to fulfill the Great Commission in my lifetime! JESUS is coming soon!
